Effects of Alkali Treatment on the Microstructure

The Raffia textilis fiber has a specific strength of 660 MPa cm3/g and scales and hollows on its surface. Thus, this fiber is a potential composite reinforcement. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of alkaline treatment at room temperature on its microstructure, structure, composition, thermal behavior, mechanical properties, and color. THE EFFECT OF CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND Beta titanium alloys are promising materials for load-bearing orthopaedic implants due to their excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, low elastic modulus and moderate strength. Metastable beta-Ti alloys are hardenable via precipitation of alpha phase; however this has the adverse effect on elastic modulus. Small amounts of Fe (0-2%) and Si (0-1%) were added to Ti-Nb-Zr-Ta

The composition of the two sets of samples are shown in the ternary diagram. Contributions of microstructure and chemical composition These changes in the chemical composition cause an increase in apparent brittleness of the tissue and reduction in damage tolerance. Consequently, though the reduction in strength and energy to fracture with depth ( Table 1 ) may be partly attributed to the lumen dimensions, it is also caused by the larger apparent flaw sensitivity that stems from the gradient in chemical composition. Effect of Prior Microstructure and Heating Rate on Effect of Prior Microstructure and Heating Rate on Austenite The nominal chemical compositions for the steels are presented in Table 1. The materials are supplied in tube form, with the outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness (WT) microstructure and composition is therefore of value in the design of induction heat treatments.

The mineralogy, chemical composition, and microstructure of ferrospheres in fly ashes have been studied by optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Mössbauer spectroscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy Effect of microstructure and chemical composition on The effects of the microstructural constituents, chemical composition, and retained austenite on high-strength weld metal were studied using preheat-free steels and GMAW solid wires with a low hydrogen content. The cold cracking susceptibility of these GMAW wires was evaluated using the y-groove Tekken test. The results showed that acicular ferrite produced the greatest resistance to cold
